This week I will present a series of new compositions for trumpet, trombone, cello and two guitars. Each of the nine brief sketches I have written is based on a photograph I’ve taken this summer. Closely examining each image’s landscapes and mood, I began to hear musical ideas. We will explore these ideas for the first time in a ensemble I call SHUTTER:
